Our association started off in 1987 when the Master received his 6th degree in traditional kung fu at the Southampton Martial Arts Centre. At this time it was called the Southern Freestyles Kung Fu Association and the systems taught were Freestyle Pak Mei, Freestyle Choi Li Fut and Freestyle Kung Fu. At the start of the new millennium the Master and the senior instructors decided to change the association name to further our abilities from the traditional Pak Mei and Choi Li Fut teachings, which were holding the association back from what could be taught. By changing the names of the styles, we are not confusing the issue of the styles that are taught. The next choice had to be the name of the system, we wanted something that would reflect the style(s) and knowledge. After much discussion we arrived at "The Unlimited Way" or "Mo Han Do" in Cantonese. To differentiate between the different systems taught, we selected the following designations. * Mo Han Do Short Fist - the old Pak Mei style * Mo Han Do Long Fist - the old Choi Li Fut style * Mo Han Do Free Fist - the old Freestyle Kung Fu style * Mo Han Do Weapons - for the various weapons taught "The association is dedicated to my Grandmaster P K Lau Hong Kong 3 times state champion" the Master 8th Degree
